Nepal - Pokhara

Pokhara is a popular tourist lakeside town as well as the end point for the famous Annapurna circuit trek.

It is one of the better developed town in Nepal with large supermarkets supplying substantial amount of foreign goods at foreign prices, upmarket internet shops and probably one of the few places where the menu bragged about their daily fresh catch from the lake.

Nevertheless, it is a place where the tourists can once again feel "connected" to the outside world, have their regular cup of coffee and bread for breakfast, walk and dress however they want without attracting the curious stares from the locals and get away from the pollution and ear deafening traffic in Kathmandu.

Perhaps "threatened" by many newly startup restaurants, the food in Pokhara is generally maintained at a one thumbs-up standard!
